I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
